К 2011 году Suicide Silence стали готовить свой третий полноформатный альбом, во главе со Стивом Эветсом - продюсер данного альбома. В марте этого года, группа выступала на MetalFest в Калифорнии и на Nevada’s Extreme Thing, во время данных фестивалей группа официально объявила, что альбом будет носить название The Black Crown. Так же рабочие названия альбома были: «Cancerous Skies», «Human Violence» и «Fuck Everything».
Когда журнал Kerrang! распрашивали Митча о следующем альбоме, он сказал, что тексты альбома будут более личными как и в No Time To Bleed, в то время как The Cleansing несёт более антирелигиозную тематику. Митч объяснил это так: «Я всё такой же, у меня те же убеждения и те же взгляды, но я стал более открыт для всего. Я не вижу ничего хорошего, в том что люди ненавидят вас - за то что вы говорите или делаете. И поэтому альбом The Black Crown для всех».
Песня «Human Violеnce» впервые дебютировала на радио станции Liquid Metal 13 Мая 2011 года. Дата выпуска альбома была намечена на 12 Июля 2011 года.
The Black Crown занимает 28 место в чарте Billboard 200.
